How we work
Our research approach is ethnographic and youth-led, meaning that we involve children & young people actively in the research process from the very outset. To do this, we deliver workshops where we engage the young participants in conversations on relevant topics, such as climate change impacts, urbanisation and socioeconomic challenges. We elicit their viewpoints on the matters discussed and let them steer the conversation toward directions of their own choosing.
The workshop participants agree collectively on aspects of their lived experiences and imagined futures that matter the most to them. We help them write stories based on our conversations. They think reflectively about how to present themselves and their cultural worldviews to external audiences. In doing this, children & young people think like ethnographers and own the narratives they want to present to others.
