Waves of Change
Inspiring young people to hopeful futures
Waves of Change brings together anthropology, climate science and animation to explore the lives of children & young people who are facing precarious futures. We work with children & young people in different parts of the world: coastal Cornwall, the Amazon rainforest, and urban Bristol.

About Us
Our mission is to bring children & young people’s artwork to the wider public and share their visions of a hopeful future – one where children & young people can benefit from a healthy engagement with their environments, and recognise that their actions matter and their voices can be heard widely.
We work collaboratively to identify the key challenges that children & young people face in trying to achieve the adulthoods they desire. We use animation co-production to amplify young voices that remain unheard. Our research provides knowledge that can shine a light on young lives that are underrepresented. It informs strategies for the sustainable development and climate change adaptation of their communities.
We are funded by the AHRC, The British Academy, the Cabot Institute for the Environment, NERC and the University of Bristol.
